Talks of Macedonia changing its name has come up in the news again with Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev stating, “When it comes to the part of Aegean Macedonia (northern Greece) say this is part of Europe, to keep around these things and words that we use. But what’s very important we have a problem with the name. It is important to focus on the problem that Greece has with our constitutional name. I believe that we will find a new name and a way to use it and what it will be.” (translated from Press24)

Furthermore, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Hoyt Yee seems optimistic about finding a solution, “There is still much work to be done, from both sides. There will be talks and I am optimistic that there will be a solution because the mood in Greece and Macedonia is the highest level ever.”  (translated from PlusInfo)
