“Bosnia and Herzegovina is a sovereign and internationally recognized state, and no parallel can be drawn between Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity and Kosovo, the US Embassy in Sarajevo told N1.

‘Just like we said on many occasions, there is no parallel between the RS and Kosovo. Bosnia and Herzegovina was a sovereign and internationally recognised state even before the Dayton Agreement,’ the embassy said, adding that the US is “fully committed” to Bosnia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

‘It is a well-known fact, the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina do not entitle any of (Bosnia’s) two entities with the right to secede from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The existence of these two entities is fully dependant on the existence of Bosnia and Herzegovina,’ said the embassy.” (N1)
