“Speaking at a roundtable with the press in Zagreb, US Ambassador Robert Kohorst said the US would be paying more attention to Croatia during his term.

‘Croatia was for several years taken for granted, as a friend, by the US and that’s unfortunate. We need to remember who our friends are,’  the ambassador said.

Mr. Kohorst noted that over the past six months four US senators had visited Croatia as part of a Congressional delegation and there had been visits by Attorney General Sessions and Assistant Secretary of State A. Wess Mitchel. He pledged that there would be further high-level engagement in the future.

‘This is one of the countries in the region that can really add to the stability and prosperity here and we hope to work with Croatia to create those kinds of values,’ Mr. Kohost said.” (Voice of Croatia)
