“First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received US Ambassador Kyle Scott today (1/10/2018).
Dacic and Ambassador Scott talked about the lasting ties of friendship between Serbia and the United States. They concluded that it is the 100 year anniversary of of President Woodrow Wilson placing the Serbian flag on the White House in support of America’s Serbian allies. The interlocutors also discussed the current cooperation between Serbia and the US in a number of areas that support Serbia’s strategic goal of EU accession.
Both sides agreed that Serbia plays an important role in promoting greater cooperation and stability in the region, including in finding the path to normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
The Serbian Foreign Minister and Ambassador Scott agreed that all countries in the region need to work together to find a way to solve thorny issues of the past in a responsible way to move the region forward towards a coherent future while respecting victims.
