“The monument for the President of Yugoslavia, Marshal Josip Broz Tito, was placed on St. Peter Cetinjski Boulevard in Podgorica, on the eve of December 19, when the liberation of the capital was celebrated.

The Mayor’s Assembly adopted on May 30th the proposal of mayor Ivan Vuković to build a monument to Josip Broz Tito in Podgorica. For such a decision, the municipal councilors and two out of four members of the Citizens’ Movement Movement Party voted.

Vukovic then said that the initiative to raise the Tito monument was not a Yugo-nostalgia, but a proof that Montenegro remained faithful to the anti-fascist orientation.” (translated from RTCG)
