“The United States Department of State is proud to announce the award of $750,000 to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Citizens Association for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and all Forms of Gender-Based Violence (NGO Atina).

The 30-month project will combat modern slavery and trafficking networks that target vulnerable individuals.  This grant will help victims of trafficking in eight cities throughout Serbia: Belgrade, Vranje, Subotica, Novi Sad, Niš, Sremska Mitrovica, Kragujevac, and Kraljevo. The project will provide emergency and long-term support services to victims of trafficking, help local authorities provide specialized assistance to child victims, and support the Government’s Action Plan and National Strategy to prevent and suppress human trafficking.” (US Embassy Belgrade)
