“Prime Minister Marjan Šarec today stressed that the United Nations migration agreement, also known as the Marrakech Declaration, is a non-binding document. Currently, the Foreign Ministry is dealing with it.

‘The Marrakech Declaration is not a binding document for us, and we must also look at it,’ Šarec said during the visit to the Ministry of Defense.

‘I think that too much dust is rising again and this is exploited for domestic policy purposes. Even those countries that have publicly announced so far to abandon the Marrakech Declaration have done so primarily from internal political incentives,’ said the prime minister, who is not planning to attend the international conference to be held in Marrakech in December.”(translated from Delo)
