“Prime Minister Miro Cerar will not be able to attend the Paris Climate Summit due to a failure of the government aircraft named “falcon,” STA has confirmed. Slovenia will be represented at the event by the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning Irena Majcen, who traveled to France on Monday.
The Climate Summit, entitled One Planet’s Summit, is being held on the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. The participants will focus primarily on the issue of financing the transition of developing countries to more environmentally friendly policies.
The event, under which United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim signed in addition to Macron, will focus primarily on the issue of financing carbon footprint, adaptation to the effects of climate change, and the management of population growth in developing countries.” (translated from Svet Kapitala)
