“Prime Minister Ana Brnabic responded to fierce criticism of her statement that Kosovo once was Serbia, saying that Serbia has to step out of its comfort zone and find a long-term solution because that is in the interest of both the country and the population.
‘A compromise means that we have to leave our comfortable seats, comfortable views about Kosovo being Serbia and on Serbia recognizing Kosovo. Those are two things we have to abandon in order to start talking about a compromise. I personally think that Serbia will never recognize Kosovo’s independence but I also think that we have to be prepared to talk about whether Kosovo is Serbia. Kosovo is Serbia but what is it that represents a long-term normalization of relations with Pristina,’ Brnabic said.” (N1)
