“Serbia is not a signatory to the Dublin Agreement on migrants, and it has never been discussed that Serbia will be a center for returning EU migrants, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said.

‘Serbia is not a signatory to the Dublin Agreement, it can not be, because it is only for the EU countries and the four associated countries of the Dublin Agreement. We could not even be a signatory or someone called us to sign it,’ Brnabic said answering questions at the ‘European Union – Serbia in the EU’ in Berlin.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia has shown how good a EU partner is, especially in 2015, when the migrant route went through Serbia.

Serbia then showed a humane face, solidarity and empathy, Brnabic underlined.

‘About a million migrants passed by and we showed different strategic thinking and were among the first countries to recognize that educated people came and tried to keep them, but they wanted to go further towards EU countries,’ Brnabić said.” (translated from Politika)
