“Johns Hopkins University Professor Daniel Serwer told N1 that speculation about the division of Kosovo has not attracted much attention in Washington. He warns that the eventual change of the borders of Kosovo would open Pandora’s box in the Western Balkans, as well as some other countries in the world.

Serwer told “Dan Uzivo” that if Serbia and Kosovo want to be democratic states and EU members, they should not see the reason why minority communities would not stay where they are – in the existing borders.

‘Changing the borders would lead to instability in Macedonia and BiH, and also in other parts of the world, for example, in Ukraine and Georgia. The US and the EU have a good attitude on the issue of border change (…) on the integrity of states and non-borders,’ he recalled.” (translated from N1)
