“The OSCE Mission in Kosovo donated 30 specialized first aid kits to special operations units and rapid reaction units of the Kosovo Police today.
The kits contain first aid items of high quality and will be used by the units to give first aid treatment to police officers injured while on duty. The special and riot police units are exposed to risk as they ensure public safety and security during protests and other possible violent events.
‘Police work is difficult; it is also dangerous work sometimes and so it is very important that you who are exposed to security risks know that you have the backup and the equipment you need to do your job in the best possible way,’ said Ambassador Jan Braathu, Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, at the handover ceremony. ‘I really hope that you will not have to use these kits, but if the need arises you will have good equipment to rely on. Your colleagues were part of the process of selecting the items inside the kits; the selection was indeed a joint effort.’” (Facebook)
