“The EU and allocated funds from participating countries provided 40 million euros ($49.5 million) for projects of the Interreg IPA cross-border co-operation program of Croatia and Serbia until 2020. A second call for submission of project proposals for this program occurred today in Subotica.

This is a project of the European territorial cooperation, which in this case covers the areas of four counties of northeastern Croatia and five districts in northwestern Serbia with about 2.3 million inhabitants, according to the Interreg IPA CBC statement.

The objective of the program is to strengthen the social, economic and territorial development of the cross-border area.

The program budget is intended for projects related to four thematic areas: employment, social inclusion and health, environment, risk prevention and energy production, tourism, cultural and natural heritage, as well as competitiveness and development of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship.” (translated from Vecernje Novosti)
