“Donald Tusk, President of the Council of Europe and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission sent a joint congratulation to President Milo Djukanovic on the occasion of the victory in the presidential election and wished every success in carrying out this responsible duty, the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) said today.

‘Montenegro is an important partner of the European Union, which with its constant progress in accession negotiations remains the leading position for EU enlargement,’ Tusk and Junker highlighted, adding that progress in the rule of law would be decisive for the overall pace of negotiations.” (translated from Vijesti)

“Croatians have found a new destination to invest their cash, Montenegro. The southern neighbour is proving a magnet for Croatian investors with over 156 million Euros spent in 2017. According to date from the Croatian National BankCroatian investment in Montenegro has exploded over the past 18 months, in 2016 Croatian companies invested a mere 10 million Euros, but last year that figure had increase to 156 million.

In fact, Montenegro has become the fifth most attractive destination for Croatian financers. Such a jump in investment must have a backstory and one of the main reasons is that Croatian Telecom purchased 77 percent of Montenegro Telecom last year. This deal alone was worth more than 100 million Euros.” (Dubrovnik Times)
