“The Western Balkans must remain focused on the integration processes in the European Union and NATO as the best way to strengthen democracy and development, Prime Minister Dusko Markovic said, adding that Montenegro’s membership in the Alliance would have a positive impact on the stability and security of the region.

At the Summit of South East Europe Cooperation (SEECP), held in Brdo near Kranj, Markovic said that Montenegro is strongly committed to preserving good neighbourly relations and improving cooperation in the Western Balkans through intensive activities in bilateral frameworks as well as active participation in numerous regional organizations and initiatives.

“We expect that the upcoming summits in Sofia as well as in London will be the opportunities to continue productive discussions about important issues for the region, focusing on the European perspective of the Western Balkans,” Markovic said.
Before the beginning of the summit, Markovic was welcomed by his Slovenian counterpart, Miro Cerar.” (RTCG)
