“The President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, received today Mr. Metodija Koloski, head of the Washington-based United Macedonian Diaspora.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the influence of the Macedonian diaspora, the ways and opportunities for promoting the Macedonian values and their contribution to international affirmation of the Republic of Macedonia. In that direction, the President of the United Macedonian Diaspora introduced President Ivanov with their current and planned activities, as well as with the challenges they face.
President Ivanov stressed that, as before and in the future, he will support the Macedonian Diaspora, and that each success is a success for the Republic of Macedonia.
The Macedonian President called for the unity of the representatives of the Macedonian Diaspora and their further active involvement and contribution to the development and promotion of the relations and cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and the United States of America.
‘With your sincere support for Macedonia, by nurturing the Macedonian name and identity, with the promotion of our tradition, language and culture, you give an example that should follow this and the next generations of Macedonians from the diaspora,’ the Macedonian president said at the meeting with Koloski .
