“It is still unclear whether over 35,000 amendments submitted by the opposition on the Law on Languages will come to the parliament tomorrow or in the coming days, and how this situation will be overcome. It could potentially block the Parliament. Officially from the cabinet of the President of the Assembly, they say that by the end of the day the parliamentary website will announce whether the amendments would be placed on the 32nd parliament agenda.
Over the past weeks, more information has emerged in the public that VMRO-DPMNE’s amendments to the law that promote the use of the Albanian language should either be withdrawn, to the extent that the development could be by grouping them, or that part of them are non-paperwork and the like. But until this afternoon (Monday), the parliamentary groups, including VMRO-DPMNE, informally say that there is still no agreement on how to proceed and whether the Parliament will tomorrow or even discuss the amendments.” (translated from Nova Makedonija)
