Sekerinska at the meeting with Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Elisabeth Millard, explained the arguments that Macedonia deserves NATO membership – increase of budget and wages in the army, defense reform, increase of the number of troops in mission in Afghanistan, but also on broader scale – return of critical and free media, the rule of law and active transparency to which the government has obliged as one of the tools to fight the corruption, Defense Ministry said in a press release on Saturday.” (Nezavisen)
“We have to take care and be creative in finding a solution to the name. There is a very important timeframe for making decisions, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said in Sunday’s interview with Radio Free Europe.
‘Perhaps the final solution will be tied to the vote of Macedonia, as citizens, by giving our EU sovereignty, in which we want to be a member, and then the Constitution is opened, perhaps there is the solution, because you know that Greece is looking for change of the Constitution, because of the change of the constitutional name. I am convinced that creativity will find these solutions’ says the prime minister in the interview.” (translated from Nova Makedonija)
