“A memorial plaque with the names of 158 KFOR personnel who died during their deployment in Kosovo was unveiled in Pristina on Tuesday by Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, NATO official John Manza and the KFOR commander General Salvatore Cuoci.

The NATO deputy assistant secretary general for Operations recalled that KFOR has been deployed on its peace mission for 19 years under UN Security Council resolution 1244, adding that the mission would not have been successful without the help of the people of Kosovo.

KFOR will continue its mission, Manza said. Prime Minister Haradinaj said his government is grateful to the NATO peace mission. ‘We are a people who do not forget the past,’ he said and added that Kosovo wants to join NATO and is prepared to contribute to peace in the world.” (N1)
