“Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj reacted on Wednesday after news that former senior commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) have received invitations to be interviewed by the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office in charge for investigating and prosecuting alleged crimes of the KLA during and after the war in Kosovo 1998-200.

Haradinaj who was a senior commander of the KLA during Kosovo’s war in 1998-99, urged his former brother in arms not to embarrass Kosovo by hiding, obstructing or avoiding justice. ‘The KLA’s war was just and sacred and this will be proven vigorously always,’ Haradinaj said in a Facebook post. ‘We were always asked to make sacrifices by facing justice, although we were victims of an aggression. Kosovo citizens and ex-KLA members, have always and without hesitation answered to filters of international justice,’ he said. ‘The Special Court is another testimony on how far our sacrifice went for creating a rule of law state, and is just another challenge in our path forward, which we will overcome if we are united,’ he said.” (Gazeta Express)
