“Director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA), Driton Gashi, has offered his resignation on Tuesday a week after Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj asked him to leave over the role of the KIA on arrest and deportation of the six Turkish nationals suspected of their links with Fetullah Gulen’s movement.
Government’s spokesperson Donjeta Gashi confirmed to Gazeta Express that Gashi has offered his resignation. “Yes Driton Gashi has offered his resignation a few days ago,” Government’s spokeswoman confirmed. In addition to Gashi, also minister of Internal Affairs, Flamur Sefaj, has offered his resignation. The two were responsible for the arrest and deportation of the Turkish nationals. Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said after the arrest that he was not informed on the operation and pledged to hold to account those responsible for the deportation of the Turkish men.” (Gazeta Express)
