“Croatia’s President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović has spent the past three days in Argentina, the first stop on her South American tour. On Wednesday, she met with members of the Croat community in San Miguel de Tucuman, in Tucuman Province, in northwest Argentina.

According to a statement issued by her office, the President visited the Croatian school ‘Instituto Republica de Croacia’ and met with Croatian community leaders there.

The unity of the Croatian diaspora and the Croatian homeland was a powerful force which kept Croatia strong during the most difficult moments of the Homeland War, the President told her hosts and added that they were a community that has always nurtured a strong sense of pride in their homeland.

The President presented the ‘Instituto Republica de Croacia’ with a national medal of honor for its exceptional contribution to promoting Croatian heritage, language, culture, education, science and sports, as well as bolstering economic cooperation and nurturing the Croatian identity in Argentina, the statement said.” (Voice of Croatia)
