“Representation of Kosovo in the EU-Western Balkans Summit set to take place on 16-17 May in Sofia, was one of the main topics of the meetings that Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov had with Kosovo state leaders in Pristina.
Borissov addressing media after meeting Kosovo President Hashim Thaci confirmed that President Thaci has been invited to attend the Sofia Summit. ‘Kosovo will be represented as recognised by over 100 countries, whereas we will find a solution also for those which have not recognised it,’ said Borisov in Pristina. The five EU-non recognising countries, especially Spain put into question Kosovo’s participation in this Summit.
Borisov called on Western Balkans leaders to leave aside personal egoism because as he said, this might be fatal for the future of these countries. He also said that Kosovo and Serbia are obliged to solve their problems. ‘The dialogue should continue because the EU does not accept countries which have open issues. There is no alternative, you know that you are obliged to solve problems with Serbia,’ said Borisov noting that Balkans has a clear European perspective. ” (Gazeta Express)
