“The President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović started off her visit to the United States by meeting with the Croatian community at a ceremony marking the 25thanniversary of the National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation.

‘As Croatian President, I am especially proud of my Croatian people, and I seek to promote a Croatian society that is open towards our Diaspora, being aware of the immense potential that lies in the ‘other’ Croatia, which is outside of the borders of our Homeland and dispersed throughout the world”, President Grabar-Kitarović said, adding that “our joint task is to establish closer ties between the Croatian Homeland and descendants of Croats who have emigrated several decades ago.'” (Croatia Week)
