“Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović hosted a reception at the Ilok City Museum on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the international recognition of the Republic of Croatia and the 20th anniversary of the completion of the peaceful reintegration process of the sub-Danube region.

The president greeted all those present, especially the doyen of the diplomatic corps, Apostolic Nuncio Giueseppe Pinto. ‘Thank you for the words you will address to us in the name of the Diplomatic Corps and the Holy See, whose support we could always count on throughout history. I am glad to be able to greet you all in Ilok, the easternmost point of the Republic of Croatia. We see your attendance at this festive reception, on the occasion of one of the most important dates in our country’s history and the anniversary of peaceful reintegration, as recognition by your countries of our efforts to, in a relatively short time, after half a century of experiencing life under totalitarian regimes, successfully build democratic order and its institutions, as well as to become a responsible participant in international life,’ said the President of the Republic of Croatia.” (Voice of Croatia)
