“The Zagreb County Court has postponed for tomorrow the adoption of a final decision on the legality of a strike in Croatia Airlines that was announced by the Croatia Airlines Workers Organization (ORCA) who are demanding the beginning of negotiations on a collective agreement.

At today’s four hour hearing the court heard witnesses and will adopt a final decision tomorrow. Yesterday the court adopted a decision to temporarily ban the strike, calling upon legal regulations regarding a situation in which irreparable damage would be done to the company in state ownership.

The ORCA union which gathers pilots, cabin crews and technical personnel in Croatia Airlines has said that in the case of a ban on the strike they will seek justice at the Supreme Court.

The Croatia Airlines management had warned earlier that the strike would cause eight hundred thousand euros in damages each day of its duration. According to the management the strike would also affect seven thousand passengers on the first day alone.” (Voice of Croatia)
