Laying flowers, learning Fatiha and paying tribute to Shahid’s cemetery Kovaci in Sarajevo marked the 14th anniversary of the death of the first democratically elected president of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovic.

Flowers on Izetbegovic’s grave and a central memorial to the martyr cemetery were laid by a delegation of state, federal and lower levels of government in BiH, representatives of the diplomatic corps, veterans’ associations, the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and others.
Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Sefik Džaferović said that , “He was a statesman, humanist, thinker and his message are still current. He also advocated for a comprehensive, democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country of equal peoples in every corner.” (translated from Klix)
